Nalie Agustin
TV Host
Nalie graduated from Communication & Cultural Studies at Concordia University in 2012. She spent her first year working in fashion until the craziest thing happened that changed her life. In 2013, Nalie was diagnosed with breast cancer at 24 years old. She went through a full year of intense treatments but refused to let anything stop her from living her dreams. So she created a blog Nalie.ca, documenting her entire journey through video recording and writing, inspiring thousands around the world, with and without cancer!
Nalie’s blog caught the attention of many, attracting interviews with Montreal’s most popular media outlets. She’s been featured on CTV, CBC, Global News, The Gazette, Huffington Post, La Presse, Journal Metro, CJAD and Virgin Radio. She also became the ambassador for Montreal’s CIBC Run for the Cure. Realizing she had a powerful voice, Nalie has done a dozen of Inspirational Speeches and will be doing her first TEDTalk in May.
In 2014, Nalie finished her final treatment and was able to scream, “I am Cancer Free!”
Knowing that life is short and anything can happen, she’s on a mission to pursue her dreams and push others to do the same! One of her childhood dreams was to be a TV Host!
That’s why she’s never been more excited to be a part of the What’s Up Montreal team! She plans to show you why life is beautiful and how you can take advantage of every day. Even in your own city. No need for a get away!
When Nalie isn’t covering the city’s hottest events, she’s sitting in Montreal’s trendiest cafés sipping on cappuccinos while writing her book and blogging away.
You can follow her journey below! She loves people, so never be shy to come say Hello!
